EU project for improving the Srednje posavlje flood protection system
The EU co-financed study documentation was completed for Hrvatske vode (Croatian Waters), as the end-user, relating to the largest system of flood control in the Republic of Croatia. The project covers the central protected region of the Republic of Croatia along the Sava River over an area of 800 square kilometres.

Investments in irrigation from the Rural Development Program for the Republic of Croatia for the period 2014 – 2020

Modernisation of the Sava river dikes from Račinovci to Nova Gradiška – preparation of project documentation
As the leading member of the consortium in cooperation with renowned Croatian companies, VPB has contracted to prepare detailed project documentation for constructing the largest infrastructural EU project in flood control on Croatian territory. The primary goal of the modernization project for the Sava river dikes foreshore is improving stability of the foundation ground in the embankment footing and more effective implementation of flood protection measures at the section from Račinovci to Nova Gradiška covering the total length of 236 km.
The mystery solved surrounding the reduction of the water wave peak on the section of the Sava River from the border with Slovenia to Podsused
It is believed that the peak of the hydrograph is reduced by 10-15% on the respective section of the Sava River (Source: Vodoprivredna osnova of the City of Zagreb) which is beneficial not just for the City of Zagreb, but also for the entire downstream flood protection system.
The risk of flooding in the City of Karlovac – today and tomorrow
The study documentation has been completed for the flood protection projects for the Kupa river catchment supported by EU funds. Although the project has incorporated a significantly wider area, existing issues mostly focus on the Karlovac and Sisak region.
