Study documentation and an application for registering the largest infrastructural project for protection against the harmful action of water in the last decade were prepared for the Hrvatske vode, as the contracting authority and investor.
EU project for improving the Srednje posavlje flood protection system
The EU co-financed study documentation was completed for Hrvatske vode (Croatian Waters), as the end-user, relating to the largest system of flood control in the Republic of Croatia. The project covers the central protected region of the Republic of Croatia along the Sava River over an area of 800 square kilometres.
The Bosut “river without a source” finally connected to the Sava River
It involves the largest national project for irrigation and multi-purpose utilisation of water, construction of a supply melioration channel for irrigating the Biđ-Bosutsko field in the Brod-Posavina and Vukovar-Srijem Counties. Upon completing the construction, the large mechanism was put into operation which enables irrigation of up to 7,000 ha of the Biđ-Bosutsko field.
Pilot project for irrigating woody plants on utilized karst areas
Ensuring ample quantities of water from depleted aquifers specifically for irrigation of agricultural crops grown on karst surfaces represents a scientific and professional challenge. From the idea of obtaining a construction permit, preparation of the Donje Polje – Jadrtovac public irrigation project was successfully finalised on 274 ha, close to Vrpolje near Šibenik.
Investments in irrigation from the Rural Development Program for the Republic of Croatia for the period 2014 – 2020
For the first time in the Republic of Croatia, EU irrigation projects were registered for co-financing through measure 4.3.1 “Investments in Basic Public Irrigation Infrastructure”. VPB compiled the study documentation for registering four public irrigation projects covering the total area of 1,029 ha.
